About

Nicky Wells writes captivating romance and breathtaking thrillers featuring famous (or infamous!) feisty heroes and extraordinary villains.

Nicky has published seven works of romantic fiction both with US publishing house, Sapphire Star Publishing, and independently, and is currently preparing a set of three thrillers for release through 2017 and 2018.

Born in Germany, Nicky moved to the United Kingdom in 1993 and currently lives in Lincoln with her husband and their two boys. She loves listening to rock music, dancing, and eating lobsters. When she’s not writing, she’s hopelessly addicted to reading crime novels by the truck load.

Says Nicky: “I’ve been writing fiction since I was ten.  My first story was a children’s story involving little alien creatures living on barren, dark Jupiter and periodically visiting earth for vital supplies. This was written in a scrawly hand in two school copy books.  That, and other stories, are awaiting their reincarnation as properly illustrated children’s books.  For now, though, my love and focus is contemporary romantic fiction with a rock theme and mind-bending thrillers with famous (or infamous) heroes and unusual villains.”

  1. I always go first to the About section as people interest me the most. So I very much enjoyed your About section as I feel I have a bit of an idea of who you are and I am delighted to meet you. What fun to be resurrecting books you wrote as a child with your own children now running about.

  2. Christina, hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog and leaving a comment. I love “About” pages, just as you do, because I like to get a feel for the blog’s author… so I am delighted that my “About” pages satisfy your curiosity. 🙂 At the moment, I am very much involved in a chick lit trilogy. But when this is complete, I am planning to revisit my children’s stories, probably with my husband as illustrator. And obviously I have my little beta testers just right here… I look forward to seeing you again on my blog. Take Care! 🙂 x

  4. Hello, my dear, hope you won’t mind that I tagged you for the Lucky 7 Meme Award. I hate chain letters normally and I really thought I didn’t have the time to do it now, as I wade through 1500+ emails, but actually I found it quite useful (albeit depressing). Here are some more details about it: no worries if you can’t do it, it’s as and when you feel like it!

    • No, that’s cool! I got a nomination from another fellow author this morning, so I’ll do both in one go–albeit at the weekend, as have no time right now. Thanks so much for thinking of me!! Hope you’re well??????

  5. I love reading about authors with amazing background stories. So much of yours mimic pages from my own. I would love to learn more about the little creatures from Jupiter as seen from the eyes of a ten year old girl. And Sophie’s Turn sounds like a great read too. I’m anxious to know more. Come see me at Griffin’s Quill.

    • Hi Ryan, it’s very nice to meet you, thank you for stopping by. I really must get back to setting that Jupiter story down on paper some day…! Have already explored Griffin’s Quill earlier today but will go back to find the subscribe button. See you soon! 🙂

  11. Hello Nicky and thank you for following my page. Just making a return visit. 🙂

  12. This is an embarrassment Nicky. I’m still figuring out how to use WordPress and finally found out how to see who’s following me. It appears you’ve been following me for almost four months, and I’ve been following you for only about a month. 😦
While the audience for our writing is different, we do share the same taste in music. I love your Musical Mondays, as it allows me to start the week with a song, as well as coming up with an answer/similar message song for you. I did like your challenge reply to a recent post. I never looked at our musical interchange as being one. 🙂
I just wish I could have as many follower as you, but give it time and I might.
I loved reading your posts. It gives me ideas of what I can look forward to once my first YA paranormal romance is published, as well as others. 🙂
    Thanks for being here. 😀 😀 😀

    • Awww… My turn to blush. Thank you so much for your kind words! It is nice connecting with bloggers like you. Don’t worry about the following thing, it took me ages to work these things out and I still find I’m putting my foot wrong here or there. Live and learn, right? Anyhoo, good luck with your WIP and stay in touch… Is it nearly Monday again? XXX
