Remember that tune, “Oh What a Night?” Now sing, “Oh What A Week” and you’ll know where I’m coming from!
Last week saw the launch of my third novel, Sophie’s Encore. Festivities began with a radio launch party over at Siren 107.3 FM on Wednesday, 4 September. That Wednesday morning dawned clear and bright, and I had no idea just how much fun the next few days would hold.
Here’s my launch week in photos and audio clips. Thank you to everyone who took part, stopped by, sent good wishes, tweeted, shared on Facebook and bought The Book. You rock. And I couldn’t be an author without you.

Publication Day +1:
Friday, 6 September, was spent largely recovering from the blast of the days before, responding to emails, chatting with folks and (*psssst don’t tell anyone*) catching up on sleep. No photos of the sleeping beauty, though. 🙂
However. THIS is what I found in the morning on Amazon.com. It’s a ranking for Sophie’s Turn, book 1 in the Trilogy.
Publication Day +2:
Author On Tour
On Saturday morning, I presented myself bright and early at the BookStop Café in Lincoln for a two-hour author appearance. Huge thanks to Joff Gainey for making this possible. 🙂

Wow-eee! Well, what can I say? Thank you, dear readers and supporters. You all rock, every one of you.
It was a fabulous launch, an amazing reward for me personally, and an incentive to do it all again, and soon….
Great photos, thank you for sharing. Sophie’s Encore is next on my reading list, whoop whoop! Having read the comments above I’m VERY excited about getting started.
You’re so organised getting your book launch blog done so quickly. My launch was two weeks ago and I’ve still yet to share my anecdotes – of which there are a few. I think my favourite tale is of getting changed into my posh frock in the Waterstones baby changing room, while reading ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ displayed around the walls. The high life of an author, ha ha!
Congratulations again on the successful launch of Sophie’s Encore, and I look forward to meeting you at the Festival of Romance in November 🙂 x x
LOVE that anecdote, Alison, and can’t wait to hear more about your launch. Thank for stopping by and taking the time to look through my ‘diary.’ I’m glad you enjoyed it. XXX 🙂
What a great combination of local, up-close-and-personal plus web-based launch! Congratulations, Nicky dear, it sounds like such fun (nerve-wracking fun, no doubt!). I am so proud of you!
Aww thank you, that means the world. It wasn’t so much nerve-wracking as exhausting. Honestly ~ on Saturday afternoon, I completely crashed. I came home, lay down, and passed out for two hours. And here’s me having dreamed of being a rock star all my life… I’d never make it, ha! XXX
You’ve certainly had a week, Nicky. Congratulations! I’m not surprised that by Saturday afternoon, you crashed and burned after all the excitement and appearances – real and virtual.
LOL thanks so much for visiting, wish you could have been there for the real thing. Next year we’ll time it better — for you and for me! XX
Looks like you had a GRAND TIME for your big day. Wish I could have been there but I’m stuck here on this side of “The Pond.” Wishing you continued success with all of your writing endeavors/endeavours.
Anyway, early yesterday I took a quick look to see if you’d posted anything and went right back to bed and my OH, closed my eyes and went back to The Land of Nod. I had a busy day, so when I wasn’t doing anything I tried to think of a response song. “Oh What a Night” is one of my favorites, so the selection process took a little time than usually. The good thing about this is the songs about Sophie and Dan has stopped playing in my head.
When I woke up this morning and looked outside the living room window, the song hit me. I feel this is the way you must have felt the next morning after the official release of “Sophie’s Encore.”
So have I plucked another song out of your head this time? Curious minds want to know. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Robin, thanks so much for your lovely wishes. Regarding you song choice… well, you didn’t exactly pluck it out of my head but I do love your selection. It makes me think of lush green meadows and bright blue skies. Love the clarinet in the background too. (Do you know I used to play the clarinet? LOL!) Thanks again. You put a wide smile on my face. xx
Congratulations honey! Looks like you had a fabulous time 🙂
It was brilliant, Vikki, and thanks for joining in! XX 🙂
Congratulations on your success Nicky! Looked like great fun at your launch party!!
Thanks so much for stopping and by and for your lovely comment, Susan. It was awesome. I’m still in recovery mode, LOL! XX Rock on!
