Security.
Lies hurt, but the truth
can get you killed.
Autumn Raine is a pop vocalist at the very top of her game. She’s a style icon, the paparazzi’s darling and everyone wants to be her friend. But when her safety is threatened, her whole life starts to unravel.
Enter Nathan Regan, an ex-elite soldier who is assigned to protect her. He’s a good man doing bad things but what drives him? Passion? Madness? Or grief? Demons from his past are threatening to consume him. Can he win the fight alone or will he have to admit he needs help?
As the threat deepens, Autumn starts to find out who she really needs in her life. Is there still room for personal assistant Janey or rapper boyfriend Rockweiler? When everyone around her is feeding her lies, how does she work out the truth? Does her record producer know more than he’s letting on? What is her mother, the British Foreign Secretary’s involvement in the situation? And can Autumn put her faith in a forty-something Jamaican woman who handles an automatic weapon as expertly as she cooks?
Eluding kidnap and trying to stay alive, can Autumn find the strength to be the person she longs to be? And can two people, poles apart, forge something strong enough to survive anything?

Giveaway!!
Today, Mandy and I are asking, what makes you feel safe/comfortable/secure?
To get you started, here’s my answer. I feel safe, comfortable and secure when the rain is lashing against the window and I sit in my lounge, with the fire going, candles lit, snuggled up under the duvet on the sofa with my lovely husband and sipping a glass of wine. Perfect scenario; even better if it was a howling snow storm!
YOUR TURN! To be in with a chance to win an e-copy of Security, leave a comment and your email address and let me know what makes you feel secure. Could it be knowing you have that secret stash of chocolate hidden away or perhaps you have a favourite piece of music that wraps you up like a blanket! Get commenting to win! Closing date 30 April 2013.
STOP PRESS! I just had word of another stunning giveaway. Says Mandy: Anyone who posts a review on Amazon until 31 May will be entered into a Rafflecopter draw to win a £25/$40 Amazon gift certificate.
Apart from making sure there are tea bags and cake in the cupboard, I can pretty much cope with everything else. Having said that, I always close the blinds when it’s dark, I have this fear of a face will suddenly appearing at the window – it could of course just be my own reflection! 🙂
Oh God, that face-at-the-window moment, how scary. I’m with you on that one. I too am an obsessive curtain-closer, I just can’t stand that black windows. Thanks for visiting and commenting, Sue! X 🙂
Thanks for having me today Nicky! I love the rain, wine and candles scenario!!
Thanks for visiting, Mandy, it’s an honour and a great pleasure to host you here. (Star-struck, me, LOL). Glad you like me scenario…. Rock on! XX 🙂
I like the rain lashing at the window, too, but prefer to be tucked up in my bed in the dark listening to it. Snuggly, warm and safe. 🙂 xx
Ooh that’s a good one too. Especially knowing that you have a whole night ahead of you sleeping in your warm, snuggly bed. Love it! XX Thanks for visiting, Sheryl! 🙂
Great feature Nicky and Mandy! Thanks for putting this together.
Thank you for visiting and commetning, Steph! 🙂 x
Keep them coming Mandy, another present for my Mum and Sister! 🙂
Aw, thanks so much for visiting, Harvey! XX
I admire your gutsiness, Mandy, singing on YouTube. On top of all your other talents, that’s pretty fantastic.
She’s a star, no doubt about it! Thanks for your lovely comment, Anneli. 🙂
This sounds so good. 😀 Congratulations, Mandy!
Hi, Nicky! 🙂
Hi Carrie ~ it sounds terrific, doesn’t it? Can’t wait to read!! Thanks for visiting and commenting. X
Congrats on your launch of Security, Mandy! I wouldn’t be caught dead singing on You Tube, but then when you can’t carry a tune…
I don’t mind the open curtains at night even though our house is basically on street level. Give me my blanket and hubby to cuddle to (with our without a glass of vino) and I’m happy, content and secure.
What a lovely scenario, Mel! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your security thoughts. Rock on! X 🙂
Safe and secure is when I know the kids are happy, safe and tucked up in bed! It was a great launch day Mandy and lovely to see you here. I know it’s going to be a HUGE hit! Lxx
Oh, Linn, what a lovely scenario, I’m with you all the way! Thanks for visiting and for your FAB comment! Xx
For me, nothing makes me feel more secure than being wrapped in my husband’s arms. I know that is so totally cheesy but it’s just the way he makes me feel. I’m a very lucky girl to have him (plus, he made the most delicious home made gluten/lactose free for me tonight!!)
It’s not cheesy at all, I think it’s absolutely wonderful. Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment, Suzy. Hope you enjoyed your dinner ~ what was it??? XXX Big hugs, 🙂
Oops… I missed out the word pizza!!
xx
Aha, that makes sense. Sounds awesome!! XX 😉
I am so fascinated that so many novels are being written with music and musicians as the main theme. I never dawned on me until just recently what a market there must be. All the books mentioned sound fab and I do hope that each and everyone of you – writing about music or other topics – have great and sustained success. Thanks Nicky for
bringing these wonderful authors to my attention. J xx
