My first author interview coming up soon on Jera’s Jamboree

Check out Jera’s Jamboree later this week to read my first ever interview!  The lovely Shaz from Jera’s Jamboree asked me some very exciting questions.  Want to know just who or what inspired me to write chick lit… ?  Well, you can find out there, soon!  I’ll post when the interview goes live!  🙂

Lovely review for Sohie’s Turn by Sue Fortin from lovereadinglovebooks!

Thank you to Sue from lovereadinglovebooks.wordpress.com for taking the time to read and review my debut novel.  Sue says, “The outcome, well what a great ending – not what I expected but totally satisfying. All in all a fab story told in a refreshing way.”  Check out the full review at Sue’s blog at http://lovereadinglovebooks.wordpress.com, or at www.amazon.co.uk, or at www.goodreads.com.  Woohoo!  🙂

Jera’s Jamboree posted glowing review for Sophie’s Turn

Check out this fabulous review Sophie’s Turn gained from Shaz at Jera’s Jamboree.  Shaz says it was “fab reading with an ending I didn’t see coming!”  She really enjoyed the novel and says it made her laugh out loud quite often.

You can find the review at Shaz’s blog at  http://shazjera.blogspot.com/

Link to Free Kindle Reading Apps

I don’t want to advertise Kindle here, nor am I in any way paid to promote the Kindle product.  However, in promoting my debut novel, I have run into the question of “how can I download Sophie’s Turn if I don’t have a Kindle” so many times that I thought it would be appropriate to post a link on my blog.

At this time, Amazon is offering a link for downloading FREE Kindle Reading Apps so that practically anyone can participate in the Kindle e-book phenomenon.  I have tried this out myself and the Reading Apps really are very easy to download.  They are available for iPhone, iPad, Windows PC and Macs and give access to the whole Kindle store as well as, obviously, to Sophie’s Turn!  I’ve posted the link under the ‘links’ section to the right of the blog.

Hope this helps!  🙂

Check out the new link to Love Reading Love Books

Sue Fortin loves reading and writes reviews for romantic and detective stories as well as thrillers.  Check out her latest review of “Turning the Tide” by Christine Stovell!  The blog also features a wealth of previous reviews, including Nicola May’s “Working It Out” and Isabel Ashdown’s “Hurry Up and Wait.”

Another five star review from an amazon.co.uk customer

Sophie’s Turn just received a second customer review on amazon.co.uk–five stars **again**!  Here’s the blurb:

Chick lit isn’t my thing but I must admit to enjoying this a lot. It’s very well
written and within a few pages the characters had come to life. The flashbacks
worked really well and before I knew it I was drawn in…. Everyone needs a
little escapism in current times and this fits the bill. I can relate to
Sophie’s quandary – we’ve all dated the odd bad boy in the past! It’s the first
kindle book I’ve purchased but have quite liked dipping into it when I’ve had a
few minutes to spare. It was straightforward to install the free app on my
android phone. I look forward to this author’s next book. Could Sophie
Penhalligan be the next Bridget Jones?!?

First review… and word gets out!

Sophie’s Turn had its first customer review on Amazon.com.  Five stars, no less!  This is what it says:

This is the perfect story to take with you for a weekend at the beach. Written
in an easy, comfortable tone, you’ll soon find yourself carried away into
Sophie’s world and unable to put the book down until you find out what happens next. I couldn’t help but become envious of the main character, Sophie, as she finds herself engaged to two different yet wonderful men. I was right there with her thinking what would I do if this happened to me. Who would I choose? Why? What do any of us really want out of “happily ever after”? Nicky Wells has done a superb job creating this window into Sophie’s life (journalist, girlfriend, rock music groupie, honest, passionate, average girl-next-door). No detail is left missing. And the pacing is spot on – definitely a page turner from half-way through to the end. Plus, as an American, I extra-specially liked the
British-isms and somewhat different take on life than we usually read here in
the states. This is simply a fun, quick read that I think anyone would enjoy.

Also, a friend put Sophie’s Turn on the goodread website.  Check it out at:  http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12060840-sophie-s-turn

Nicky Wells publishes Sophie’s Turn on Amazon!

Sophie’s Turn is an honest, funny and occasionally bitter-sweet story about one young woman’s entanglement with a rock star.  It has glamour, romance and comedy and does everything you expect from great ‘chick lit’ … and more!

Sophie’s Turn is now available for download from Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com and Amazon.de via Kindle and FREE Kindle Reading Apps (for PC, Mac, iPads and smartphones).

This blog is under development… more information, pictures, sample chapters, links and fun stuff to come soon!
