The launch festivities are over, the Trilogy is done, and it’s time for a fresh start, a new leaf, a blank page (ha! Literally, in my case!!). To get myself — and you! — in the mood for a great week, I’m bringing you another one of my absolute top favourite tunes today. In fact, I’ve been wanting to bring you this song for ages, but it’s only in recent months turned up in legal form on YouTube. It’s a classic anthem in my book; a feel-good, get-up-and-dance, sing-along-at-the-top-of-your-voice song! And that’s exactly what I’m doing right now!!
If I haven’t quite built a city on rock’n’roll yet, I’m certainly building a library, so the sentiment is entirely appropriate. Have fun and keep rocking!
When was the last time you heard this gem on the radio? Or, if this is your ‘first time’ ~ what do you think?
And it’s not any old Music Monday. It’s the first Music Monday after the holidays, so I’m once again your chief DJ.
And it’s a launch week Music Monday. Yes! I’m using this post to kick off the festivities. Only three days to go until Sophie’s Encore, and naturally, I am way overexcited. Many of you have been following Sophie and Dan’s romance over the past year. You know how, in the first act, Sophie’s Turn, the two look destined for one another until Sophie takes a surprising turn in the road. You know how, in the second act, Sophie’s Run, Dan has to watch while Sophie is in pursuit of her thunderbolt-and-lightning man. You know that Dan finds this really quite difficult, even though he never once lets on to Sophie how he really feels.
So at the beginning of the third and final act, Sophie’s Encore, let me share with you a list of songs that are on Dan’s playlist as he is poised for the grand finale…#
Dan’s ‘official’ stance towards Sophie
Dan’s fierce conviction (which he keeps top secret, of course)

That makes it… my gorgeous Other Half’s choice!
I can tell you, he’s beside himself right now. We have somewhat different views on his tastes in music, and for obvious reasons, he’s thrilled to host the Takeover for you today. So I’m doubly keen to hear what you think, LOL!
Jon ~ I love you. XX

Happy Monday, everybody! I’ve spent the last two weeks getting intimately familiar with every last word in Sophie’s Encore all over again, checking for typos, missing words, commas, hyphens and other calamities. The manuscript is now clean, I’m relieved to report. Woohooo! This means I’ve read the novel forwards and backwards and upside down (yes, upside down!). I’ve experienced all over again every emotion I wrote for my characters, and every emotion I went through while writing.
The tag line is… Her rock star is waiting in the wings, but will he get a second chance?
Well then. With that, there’s only type of song that Dan could be performing right at this moment. A CLASSIC!
Oh yeah, babe! Don’t you just love it?? *swoons* I wonder what Sophie would say….
YOUR TURN!
It’s the school holidays and I need a break! So I welcome suggestions for Music Monday Takeover ~ your chance to be my guest picker! What song would Rock Your World over the next few weeks? I’m looking for four of your most Awesome Rock Songs ~ let’s hear your choice and see what shakes out!
Well. And there’s really only one song that’ll do today. ’nuff said!
Have a FABULOUS summer, everyone. 🙂
Would love to hear your plans!
Me? Well, we’re having a long weekend in London to start with where we shall be exploring the city by DUCK! Next up, the kids are lucky enough to get a holiday from me for a few days when they stay at the grandparents’. 🙂 Then we’re all off to Yorkshire together for a coast’n’moors holiday. And apart from that, we have plenty of day trips and jollifications at home planned. The next six weeks will fly by, I’m sure… And you know what happens at the end of the summer holidays, right? (Hint… #SophiesEncore)
Happy Monday, one and all! I hope you had a fantastic weekend. I’m in the throes of proofing Sophie’s Encore and this has put me in the mood for a classic song. I have posted this band before but I couldn’t resist today’s choice. Especially as this is an important and highly relevant question (ah… but who’s asking it??? You’ll have to wait to find out, although not for very long!)!
So. Is This Love? What do you think?
***STOP PRESS!!! BREAKING NEWS!!!***
Music Monday will take a break for a week because… *DRUMROLL* … it’s the cover reveal for Sophie’s Encore next Monday!!! Hope to see you all here to go ooooh and aaaah!!!!!
Two things combined this past weekend to make today’s music offering completely self-obvious, self-evident and virtually unavoidable. For one, it was the Glastonbury Festival. I didn’t get to go, but I watched my favourite bands avidly via the ongoing, almost real-time and therefore quasi-life footage over on the Beeb.
For another, the amazing Jane Risdon wrote an outstanding piece of flash fiction titled Summer of Love and published over on Morgen Bailey’s blog last Friday. Well, after reading this, I was so very much in the mood for a festival and nostalgic for an era I didn’t get to experience that I simply had to bring you this song…
That about captures it, don’t you think?
Have you ever experienced nostalgia for something you didn’t even get to experience in the first place?
