Chick Lit Central judges Sophie’s Turn to be a ‘compelling read’ and awards FOUR lovely stars!

A wonderful good morning to you all!  It is my great pleasure to be visiting the fabulous Chick Lit Central blog once more today as Melissa Amster has posted her review for rock star romance Sophie’s Turn.  Melissa concludes that “If you are looking for an entertaining chick lit novel, then you’ve come to the right place with this one.”  Melissa gave Sophie’s Turn FOUR stars on Goodreads.  Hooray! That’s lovely praise for my work and I am truly delighted.  Find the full review here.

A great big thanks to Melissa for taking the time to read and review Sophie’s Turn.  I know Melissa would have preferred a paperback (me too!  Maybe…hopefully… one day!) so I doubly appreciate her perseverance with reading my work and the great thoughts and work put into this review.  🙂 Rock on!

Sophie’s Turn mega-event on The Write Stuff: Brittany Roshelle hosts an interview, review and give-away of Sophie’s Turn this week!

This week, I’m visiting Brittany Roshelle on her blog, The Write Stuff, for another massive event on the virtual book tour for Sophie’s Turn… [drumroll…]

Today (Monday), Brittany is hosting me during an author interview.  Brittany was particularly interested in the logistics of self-publishing a novel and the process of writing.  I talk about why I chose to go the ‘indie’ route, what challenges lay in wait, and how I got my book from ‘tree’ format to ‘e’ format and out there into the blue yonder…. And also, I tell all about what is the best part about being an author!

On Tuesday, Brittany offers her very own views on Sophie’s Turn! Be sure to check out her review on her blog–especially as there is a give-away competition associated with the review.   One lucky blog reader will win a free Kindle copy of Sophie’s Turn!

And now I would like to say a very big Thank You indeed to Brittany for hosting this triple-whammy jam-packed stop on her fabulous blog.  Your support and enthusiasm are both invigorating and invaluable!  🙂

I look forward to seeing y’all on The Write Stuff soon.

Cheerio from

Nicky Wells reveals how “Sophie’s Turn” was born with a quite different title… in a brand-new guest blog on Chick Lit Central (with give-away)!

Hello chick lit lovers!  Today, it is my great pleasure to post a guest-blog on the fabulous chick lit blog, Chick Lit Central.  The wonderful people behind Chick Lit Central–especially the two Melissas–were among the very first to agree, way back in July, to help this here indie author promote her book, in the first instance through this guest blog (with give-away!) and also through a review later in the year.  And, in fact, this is the very first guest blog I ever wrote (even though I’ve published a couple in the meantime)!  So a big, fat, huuuuge, Thank You to Chick Lit Central for their encouragement and unfailing support.  Guys, you really gave me courage when I first dipped my toes into the indie waters!

Right, enough of the prelims… What is this post all about then?  Titled “Turning the Title,” this guest blog considers how Sophie’s Turn didn’t actually see the light of day being called Sophie’s Turn at all! So what happened?  Find out all about the original title and its evolution here:  http://chicklitcentraltheblog.blogspot.com/2011/09/nicky-wells-teaches-us-trick-to-finding.html!

In addition, there is a give-away associated with my post on Chick Lit Central and there are TWO e-copies of Sophie’s Turn up for grabs.  The competition is live now and ends on 25 September.  Visit Chick Lit Central to find out how to enter.  I see there is quite a bit of interest already: Rock on, folks!  Good luck to all entrants.

Cheerio and take care… 🙂

Kim Nash at Kim the Book Worm has reviewed Sophie’s Turn… And she has awared this “outstanding debut novel” FIVE stars on Amazon!

Kim says:  Can’t believe that this is Nicky’s first book.  She writes in such a fabulously colourful and descriptive way which makes you believe you are the main character of the book, and feel the deep emotions of the characters.

Wow!  To read the full review, check out http://kimthebookworm.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html.

A big thank you to Kim for taking the time to read Sophie’s Turn (on her holidays, no less!) and for writing such a detailed review sharing her impressions and reactions. I love it!  🙂

The review jamboree for Sophie’s Turn continues with another great review, this one from Christy Goldstein at the Chick Lit Club.  Christy concludes: “This is a great debut from Nicky Wells about deciding your fate. Reabookreview reviews and recommends Sophie’s Turn with four stars!

Rea Sinfield from Reabookreviews has taken the time to read and review my debut novel, Sophie’s Turn… and she enjoyed herself!  Rea concludes that she would definitely recommend reading my book: She says, “I feel as though Nicky has a style of writing which makes it easy to read and also using more realistic scenarios which makes the books easier to relate to and enjoy. I found there were also some lovely humorous touches in this novel which were not predictable.”  Check out the full review at http://reabookreview.blogspot.com/2011/08/sophies-turn-by-nicky-wells.html?showComment=1314643761467#c9019176393986634841.

Rea also had a slightly spooky experience with reading Sophie’s Turn as one of the events that happen to Sophie and Tim also happened to her a while back… pretty much, actually, as I was writing the book: and **that** spooked me!  If anyone else out there has any novel-reality-transference experiences relating to Sophie’s Turn, please do get in touch!

Thanks to Rea for taking the time to read and review Sophie’s Turn.  Rea awarded Sophie’s Turn four stars on www.goodreads.com.
